Costa Rica Fishing Los Suenos: Los Sue?s Marina (just north of the resort town of Jac?, the finest marina on the Pacific coast south of the US border, and Quepos are the two main fishing centers on the Central Pacific coast. Most anglers fishing in Costa Rica target billfish, and they are seldom disappointed here. From December through March/April this area hosts one of the world’s great sail bites, although sails and marlin will linger throughout the year.

Costa Rica Fishing Guanacaste : Guanacaste Fishing, in the northwester corner of Costa Rica (Tamarindo beach and gulf of Papagayo region) has no specific season, however species are more prevalent during some periods, quantities caught of every one specie depend on season. Although we have excellent fishing year 'round, our peak seasons are April-August and November-March. From March thru August there is a high pick fishing season in this area, as fishing takes place in the nearby Catalina and Bat islands or in front of Tamarindo beach, often only a ten minutes boat running in search of Mahi-Mahi(Dorado), wahoo, yellowfin tuna and other species, or bottom fishing for amberjack, red snapper, or maybe your captain could give you the choice of a Papagayo fishing Charter for rooster.

Costa Rica Fishing Tarpon: Costa Rica’s largely unspoiled Caribbean coast has little development. But that means there are fewer services than on the Pacific side. Along the south Caribbean coast there is, as yet, no marina. The few fishing guides who operate must improvise their boat moorage, usually anchoring in sheltered bays.While staying in Puerto Viejo I connected with a group of fishing-crazy American ex-pats who agreed to take me out on their boat.Don, Lazlo and Sean had all permanently moved to Costa Rica’s Caribbean. Lazlo brought his 21 foot fishing boat from the U.S., and he’s happy just to have company on the water willing to share in the cost of fuel.

Costa Rica Fishing Quepos :Quepos fishing reports in April were fantastic for Offshore anglers here in the height of our Costa Rica Fishing Season. Quepos Fishing Charters Boats were Blessed during the Holy Week with a Marlin Bite every Day. With the 32' raising and releasing Costa Rica Marlin on its last two days offshore and the Quepos Fishing Fleet 33' released a 300 lb. Blue Marlin anglers have been on their toes at the call of those famous words... Marlin, Marlin, Marlin. Our fleet out of Los Suenos and Flamingo and Tamarindo have had terrific reports as well. Costa Rica Fishing Golfito :

Golfito (on Pacific Coast are the main fishing centers of this region. There are sails and marlin offshore during peak season, and plenty of exciting roosters, mackerel, ambusion of small coves and rocky islets, small barracuda and snapper, mackerel, sea bass and the occasional snook can be caught on light tackle. Off Cabo Matapalo in the Pacific, anglers will encounter sails, marlin, tuna and other blue water species. This area is generally considered to have the best all-round inshore fishing in Costa Rica, and there are roosters that average over 30 pounds, wahoo, grouper, jack, barracuda and trophy-size Pacific cubera snapper.
