Bottom fishing refers to one of the most common fishing techniques used to catch fish near the sea floor. The best way to catch large species of predatory fish such as grouper and snapper is by using drifting and anchoring tactics near reefs, buoy and shipwrecks.
Much of your time will be spent trolling among reefs that range anywhere from 100 - 400 feet of water. The captains and mates on board all our charter fishing boats have the best knowledge of the area, where the shipwrecks and reefs are located and use several different weighting and trolling techniques while bottom fishing.
Species such as grouper, amberjack, snapper and the occasional Pompano are caught bottom fishing.
